New Summer Concert Series!

Bay View Music at Mackinaw Crossings

The Mackinaw City Area Arts council and Mackinaw Crossings are pleased to announce a special afternoon outdoor concert series that begins this Sunday July 3 ! The concerts will begin at 1pm and will be about one hour in length. Collegiate musicians of the Bay View Music Festival in Petoskey will provide weekly entertainment. These talented musicians from all over the world come to study and perform at Bay View for several weeks during the summer. The music they will perform will vary in style each week. The concerts are free! We encourage you to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to place on the lawn. Beverages and food will be available at several locations in Mackinaw Crossings. It is a perfect opportunity to have a picnic on the lawn and enjoy top notch entertainment. There are also benches and some tables available around the stage area or you can just stroll around and enjoy the summer day filled with music!

The schedule of Bay View performers is as follows:

July 3- Cody Bradley, Piano + Singers
July 10- Andrew Rene, Piano + Singers
July 17- Woodwind Quintet 2a
July 24- String Quartet 2a
July 31- Woodwind Quintet 2b
Aug. 7- String Quartet 2b

This is a rare opportunity to see these talented young musicians perform outside of Petoskey. The performances will take place on stage at Mackinaw Crossings. Please help us spread the word and give these talented musicians a warm welcome to Mackinaw City!

We hope to see you all there!

Volunteer With Mackinaw City Area Arts Council

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS: The Mackinaw City Area Arts Council needs you!
The owner, Jim Wehr, has once again made it possible for the Mackinaw City Area Arts Council and The Mackinaw Area Historical Society to operate a Cultural Center at Mackinaw Crossings this summer. There will be a variety of art shows, art demonstrations, workshops, community projects, children’s activities, paint and pours and concerts throughout the summer. We hope to have the center open from 4-6 daily beginning May 21. There will be additional hours when special events are planned. We are seeking volunteer Docents to make this happen! A shift would be from 4-8pm. You may sign up for any number of shifts throughout the summer. Artists could open the center and use the center to work on projects. One need not be an artist to be a docent. The responsibilities would be to open the center, greet visitors, pass out literature for MCAAC and MAHS, and encourage the visitors to sign our guest book.

A docent training will take place from 3-4 pm on Saturday May 21.
If you are willing to volunteer, please contact Gerry Lou Kania at 231-627-7243.
