Art Walk 2022
This year our board is opening the art walk submissions to all Michigan artists.
In the last two years Mackinaw City Area Arts council has added 8 art installations along an area of high tourist traffic in several small waterfront parks in Mackinaw City. In 2022 we plan to add 4 new installations.
“Art Walk” encourages art awareness and appreciation plus tourist engagement with talented Michigan artists. The displays include a short artist bio, statement of interest about the work and artist contact information in a 6×9 inch format, mounted beneath the art work.
By receiving this letter, you have been identified as a potential participant or a gallery or an art council organization who is being invited to inform your artist members of the opportunity to participate in Art Walk 2022
2022’s art walk theme is nature and the beauty of Michigan. Only two dimensional work will only be considered for Art Walk. Mediums could include, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, tempura, collage, pen and ink, colored pencil, pencil/charcoal rendering, fine-arts photography and mixed media.
In early April the submissions will be voted on by Board members. Then letters or emails of acceptance or decline will be sent to the artists shortly after.
The Mackinaw City Area Arts Council covers all costs of artwork reproductions and mounting. The Village of Mackinaw City provides and installs the mounting posts. Artwork will remain in possession and custodianship of MCAAC.
Feel free to contact us if any further information is needed. We look forward to viewing your art submissions.
We will collect no fees from the artist and Membership to MCAAC is not a requirement of submission but please note membership helps support our mission and the arts in the Straits of Mackinac Area.

We want to provide a public art experience for our local community and all of our yearly visitors to enjoy.” says, Lorie Archambeau, acting President of the Arts Council.
